You wish to transport your boat or your caravan yourself in order to ovoid the cost of a transporting company?

Be very careful because the French law is very strict. You risk heavy fines if you do not obey the laws of the road.

A small reminder :

 

· Driving without an E(B) permit (car + trailer >750kgs):     

Contractual fine + loss of licence + court appearance + immobilisation of the vehicle thus leading to employing a declamping company for recuperation of the vehicle.

 

· For the excess of PTAC : 

< 20% of the total weight : the fine is 135€. Above 20%, the fine is classed C/5 (offence) and may rise to 1500€ + immobilisation of the vehicle thus leading to the employment of a declamping company.

 

You have at your disposition professionnals with C, EC, E(B) licences experienced at driving under all circumstances. Transportation of boats, nautical materials, cars or trailers is their profession.
